Halifax

We left PEI on a Sunday.  Our plan was to drive from the cottage to the ferry terminal, take the ferry, drive to the hotel, meet Barb & Will and tour around Halifax.

We thought we'd take the 11:00 am ferry.  It was recommended that we get there an hour prior to departure.  So we tried.  Oh trust me, we tried.

We checked out of our cabin.  We programmed the GPS and drove to the ferry.  Right before Charlottetown, the GPS told us that we should drive straight, however the big  BIG sign indicated that we should turn left.  Luckily it was at a red light.  I pulled out the map, Steven watched the minivan behind us do the exact same thing.  I figured out where we were and made the call.

TURN LEFT!!!!!

So, essentially we followed the highway signs to the ferry.  And as we were zipping along, I kept saying "we're not going to make the 11:00am ferry".

10:45am
Me: "we're not going to make the ferry"
Steven: "be positive, we'll make the ferry"

10:50am
Me: "we're not going to make the ferry"
Steven: "yes we will"

10:55am
Me: "follow the signs.  We're not going to make the ferry"
Steven: "sure we will"

11:00am
Steven: "we're not going to make the ferry"
Me: "I have to pee"

Ferry - PEI to Nova Scotia.

Man, they really cram the vehicles in.  I had to climb over the seat and out the side van door.

Halifax hotel
There are benefits to booking in advance.
We like our space, we booked a suite for the same rate as a standard hotel.

After cleaning up, we went to the harbour for dinner.

It was the fringe festival.
Gorgeous night.  So many people, so many booths.

Auntie Two Barb and John

We booked a harbour cruise.
Probably shouldn't have booked the sunset tour.  It's a bit later and much more of a "booze cruise" atmosphere. (bad parent!)

The first part was really nice.

But then it rained so John & I went down below.

We had company for a bit but I'm pretty sure me & a 4-yr old cramped their style.

Back at the hotel.

Next day.

Checking out of the hotel.
