A Year

These pictures are the reason that I needed to lose weight.
These pictures were taken at Christmas time.
I saw these pictures and cried.

I know why I like the picture so much.  Because you can see my cheekbones.  You can see my hard work is paying off.

The picture on the left is June 19, 2010 and the picture on the right is June 10, 2011.

FORE!

Must be nice to be at home during the day.

I especially love the pivot of the back foot.

Such poise.

The Can

you know, words cannot do these pictures justice.
Enjoy.

Wednesday Weigh-In

Since my last weigh-in, I have:
  • lost weight
  • exercised but not religously
  • been really really tired
I haven't been posting regularly regarding my weigh-ins but that's not for any particular reasons.  I have been on track, I have been exercising between 3-5 times per week, I have increased my running times and distances, I have lost weight, I'm not positive if I have lost inches but I'm in smaller sizes so it's a good bet that I'm smaller.

Things I need to work on:
  • bringing my lunch to work
  • walking during my lunch hours
  • not snacking
  • going to bed earlier
I have been rummaging through my bags of clothes in the crawl space and it's like an entirely new wardrobe!  I've managed to fit into clothes that I haven't been able to wear since way before being pregnant.  Maybe way back in 2004?  So while I am in smaller sizes, none of my clothes are fashionable for this year :P

I've bought a ton of dresses for summer vacation.  Cute cotton summer shifts.  And I am even considering wearing some of the dressier ones to work.  Imagine, dresses at work.  Oh my.  But get this, best thing ever...I picked up a dress to try on and looked at the XL size but thought to myself that it looked kind of big.  So I grabbed the large and went to the change room.  It was a cute dress a bit snug waround the chest but overall a great fit, so I bought the dress.  Later at home when I pulled out the dress to show Steven I noticed the size.  Wow.  Size medium.  Woot me!

My next thing on the to-do list is to start running outside.
I don't know why but I like this picture.

Our Family

I came home from work the other day and John immediately wanted me to come out to the backyard.

"oh yeah, oh yeah!  I am the greatest."

He was playing with the chalk and drawing on the deck.

So just looking at the picture, you'd think Steven, Me, John.
But you'd be wrong.
Me, John, Steven.  And do you see that squiggle in the upper left corner?  Yup, that's Riley.
Did you also notice that the big one (ME) has a moustache?  Yeh, thanks alot John.
Moustache, whatever.  SOMEONE's getting a time-out.

Hug, headlock...there's a fine line.

New rubber boots.  First he said that he wanted yellow boots.  Then he said he wanted green boots.
SCORE!  Yellow and green boots.  Mama rocks!

Green Thumb

Did I mention that John planted seeds in a cup in his class.  It is sitting on the ledge in the sun in the family room.  It puts me to shame.  This little plant is thriving.  It is incredible how fast this plant is growing.  John gets so excited when he sees the plant and I thought he'd really like to plant something outside.
What I underestimated is the lure of playing in the dirt as opposed to planting in the dirt.

What I wouldn't do for one of these smiles.  The smile lights up his face.
I digging, mama.  I digging.
Oh yeah, playing in the dirt and playing with the remote control car.
What he tried to do was play with the remote control car in the dirt.
Oh but I do not want to come inside mama.  I want to stay outside. (or in John talk "Ow-gide")
No mama.  Outside.

Saturday

I swear, vendors must see us coming a mile away.
We went to the mall on Saturday and while walking around, bought an Elmo balloon character.

But look how happy he is with the balloons?
Can you believe how much the balloon looks like Elmo?  Amazing.

He wanted to make Elmo fly like a super hero.
Check him out, I love this picture.

Elmo, superhero, Take 2.

I wish Riley was in the picture too.
Then it would have been perfect.
