In Stitches

So this is where my stitches were. There were only 3.
I was a little worried, I had a referral to see a dermatologist for the mole on my nose. I've had this mole for my entire life but it had been growing. (at least I thought it was growing)
According to the Dr. Derm, he was not worried at all but since I was there and had resolved to have it removed, I got it removed. Holy crap, that needle(s) HURT.
At first when the stitches were removed it didn't look like there would be much scarring but in the end, you can see "railroad" type scars. At least it is in the crease so not very noticable.
I'm glad that I had it removed. Too bad it's not covered under Health care or insurance. :(

ABC's

How amazingly intelligent is my son?
I came home and Steven showed me what they had worked on.

Not only did John put together his alphabet puzzle but he also put his blocks and animals on the corresponding alphabet letter.
Maybe I'm biased, but he's only 2 1/2 yrs old and he knows his alphabet.

Plus sometimes he can even make the correct noise of the animal.

Next goal? Numbers.

Colors

John loves saying orange. But it sounds more like OH-unge.

He's learning his colors.

Last night during story time we were going thru colors.
I was pointing to a green book and I asked him what color it is.
John: OH-unge
Me: no, it's green
So then I point to a green truck and I ask him what color it is.
John: Gween
And I point to another green book and I ask him what color it is.
John: Gween
And I point to his orange Go Dog Go book and I ask him what color it is.
John: Gween
Me: No, it's orange
John: doh
seriously, he actually made a similar noise. when he realized that it was orange. so cute.

Happy VD!

Roughnecks vs. Rock

We went to the Valentine's Day Massacre lacrosse game. I love going to these games, they are so much fun. We've been waiting until John was old enough to go to an afternoon game.

Yes he's eating apples. I am one of those mothers. Not only did I bring apples for his snack, he also had chocolate soy drink. That's right. Soy.
We thought FOR SURE that John's cuteness would show up on the jumbo-tron. Well, apparently we thought wrong. Fuckers.

C'mon. Look at him. Couldn't you just eat him up? He's so friggin' adorable.
Even the Drill Crew thought he was adorable.
LOOK AT HIM. He's gorgeous. He had fun. He was being entertained by the drunk guys behind us. One of the guys must either be a dad or have nieces/nephews because he played with John for much of the 4th quarter.
And when the guys in front of us would take off their hard hats when the Roughnecks scored, John would try and imitate them. He'd clap and cheer. He'd stomp his feet. I wish I had a video of John watching the game. Priceless.

Admittedly, not the best pictures of any of us but it is really difficult to take pictures when John's attention is focused on someone/something else.

We had so much fun. Although, Justin was supposed to come with us but someone got the game time wrong. When I first put my name up for the tickets (I got them thru work), the game time was 2pm. Then, when we were on the way to the game (at 1:30pm) I was looking at the parking pass that had 4:30pm. And I looked at the tickets and they read 3:00pm. Shit. Yup, we came home and watched a movie before Justin had to leave and then Steven, John & I went to the game. Sorry Justin!

Living the High Life

John pooped in the tub tonight. Awesome.

All I can say is that Thank Goodness it was solid.

This was my Saturday night. How was yours?

Ready Set GO

This is his new thing. He'll stand against the wall, he'll ask me to sit on the floor in front of the couch. And he'll RACE toward me, he'll run full tilt at me. Sometimes he doesn't even wait for me to be paying attention and I'll happen to glance up and see him barrelling toward me.

But if there's a camera, there's always time to slow down to pose.

And he's tricky. He'll run toward me, then feign right or left and then turn around and run back to the start.
I LOVE this one. Great picture, caught in mid stride.
Although, it does look like he's prancing.
Best feeling in the world.
Running into my arms for a big hug and a kiss.

He's such a poser.
This is the view I have. Running full speed at me.

More Randoms

It may look like he's making a snow angel but this is the aftermath of being thrown in the snow by his father.

Yeh, that's right. We make him work for his keep. He's pretty strong for a 2 year old.

Even though it appears that he's having fun, he really doesn't like sledding down an incline.
He's more of a walk up and down the hill kind of kid.

Or pull an empty sled up and down the alley kind of kid.
